Our Jazz Band is a great opportunity for students at Shermer Middle School. This group is comprised primarily of trumpets, trombones, saxes, percussion, guitars, and keyboards. It is open to any student with previous playing experience, based on the band's need. This class meets after school one day a week. Students are given opportunities to play jazz, rock, pop, and swing music. Students are also encouraged to learn how to improvise solos. This group plays three concerts a year and competes in various jazz festivals both locally and nationally.
